Overview

Surrounded by greenery, the Bibbione Castle dominates the Valdi Pesa and the hills of Chianti as far back as 997. Erected by Cadolingi of Montecascioli, the castle was completed in 1000. In 1511, the property was purchased by Niccolò Machiavelli, who made it his hunting lodge. The complex Bibbione still belongs to the family. The Marchioness Antonella Rangoni Machiavelli has personally overseen the restoration of the castle and the village. Fields and forests invite you to stroll to discover the villages, monasteries and Etruscan settlements nearby.
